Hi there, I’m Lukas
I am an educator who is passionate about scientific literacy, academic success, and lifelong learning.

Bio
After graduating from UW-Madison with a B.S. in Biochemistry, I moved to Suzhou, China. While there, I taught biology, chemistry, and environmental science at a regional international school. After two years, I returned to my native Minnesota. While there I worked in education access for students from low-income backgrounds and in regenerative medical research. Currently, I am based in Mexico City, where I teach biology at an international school and tutor students throughout the Americas.
When not at work, I love to get outdoors. Gardening, going for hikes, and enjoying a good book in a hammock are some of my favorite things in the world. I also love to travel to new places and learn about the history, botany, culture, and cuisines of the places I visit!
Education
Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry
UW-Madison
Nitrogen-fixing rhizobia and their symbiotic relationships with the roots of legumes. Protein folding patterns in genetically altered human enzymes. Molds and smuts in cultivars of grapes in New Zealand. Drought-hardy clover varieties. These are a few of the topics that captured my interest during my studies in biochemistry.
Minor in Integrated Liberal Studies
UW-Madison
Reading the classics, delving into the history of scientific thought, and developing a robust appreciation for the building blocks of communities, my minor field of study offered me a broader view what it means to be a citizen and member of communities both small and large.
